Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council is a leading government entity dedicated to advancing research, fostering global innovation collaborations, and attracting global talent to Qatar. Established in 2018, the council drives research, development, and innovation (RDI) efforts on a national level in Qatar, aiming to position Qatar a top destination for global talent and a pioneering hub for RDI with its motto, “locally empowered, globally connected”.

Playing a pivotal role within the Qatar National Development Strategy, QRDI Council has developed the QRDI 2030 Strategy, which mobilizes leadership across government, academia, and industry to transform Qatar’s social and economic landscape. By implementing this strategy, the Council actively shapes the Innovation component of the Economic Diversification goal, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The mission of the QRDI Council is to position Qatar as an internationally recognized hub for R&D-based innovation, and a top choice for global R&D centers, as well as to create opportunities for scientific researchers and innovators in health, society, digital technology, resource sustainability, and energy.
